Pooh collects pb at 5.05m during second day of decathlon at Azusa Pacific, while the remaining polevaulters come back with sun burns - average performances.
Pooh got on a roll during the vault in the deca and pushed is outdoor pr to 5.05m then moved the bar to 5.25m. Had two good attempts at it.
The other vaulters fell short of the billings with subpar jumps of 15'7 for Jeff and Scott, 11'6 1/2" performances for Ebby and Katie R., and two 12' 1" performances by Amy.
Got to figure out the problems soon, or the Big Ten meet will not be much fun.
As of last notice - Amy was still tied for 8th on the NCAA list at 3.90m.

Coach K's Comments
After a week off of training due to spring break, and some down time taken just
getting healthy after the NCAA meet, all the vaulters looked, for a lack of
better terms - terrible. Techincally we just didn't look sharp. Pooh
Williams lead the way with fine jump of 16' 1", and Jeff looked
alright, but we have got a long way to go in the next several weeks.
On the women's side, don't let the p.r's of Katie Meyer and Marianne Maj fool
you. Again, we jumped on a day that was vaulter's heaven. It was 65-70
degress with a huge tail wind. Big poles where the flavor of the day but we
all know that if we continue to jump the way we did on Saturday, we
will be watching the NCAA meet on TV.
Look for better stuff down the road from all the Boilers. Certainly, the best
is yet to come. The outdoor season in underway - so its time for us to answer
the wakeup call.

3/22 - New Addition to the Squad
Coach K writes.....
This morning at 5:00 am, the newest Boiler arrived in West Lafaytte, IN. Amanda
Kaiser delivered a 9lb 4oz. baby girl at Home Hospital in
Lafayette. Her name is Kathryn (Katie) Anne, and was welcomed into the world by
her father, David, and her big sister, Suzannah.
The baby and mom are both doing very well.
